Discussing Dry Wash Type Automotive Cleaning Products and Their Environmental Advantage

Droughts are serious business and when Level III Droughts hit regions in the US, big water users like car washes are required to shut down. During Level II Drought conditions they are allowed to operate, but if they have water recycling methods, but since they still use some water, they must cut back like any other business.Having retired from the car washing industry, I have been particularly intrigued by our competitors over the years who offered dry washing products for car washing. Personally, I have never liked them much, but that’s probably because they competed with our methods in the mobile car washing and auto detailing sector. In countries like Australia which is having the worst drought in some 200-years, they are big hits with the government and the people.

Yes, Indeed, these types of companies are of interest, and there is a franchise company from Australia that has a concept, which is rather innovative. I have seen these “dry-wash” type products (been around for years, each one attempts to be different). This franchise in Australia has done well in setting themselves apart and differentiation. Amazingly enough, there have been attempts to come into a few US markets with a full-fledged franchise system using this type of product.

Their employees and marketers constantly call me fishing for information pretending to be customers. In Australia, they are dealing with the 500-year drought and it’s really serious, in the future these businesses will be more impressive due to water shortages projected in 23-states by 2012, simply due to growth, and current supply regardless of any “Black Swan Event” that shows up.

There is a Venture Capitalist in the Silicon Valley area who has funded such a business and they have an array of products, wish to tap into mobile services, G-phone GPS online instant ordering etc. But, like MyLacky.com (blew through some 13 million in VC money in 18-months) and the unbelievable disaster of WebVan that squandered a billion dollars and drove off a cliff; these folks will not be able to pull it off without my experience, because no one quite understands the business like I do. Too arrogant for you, sure, self-confidence is part of the entrepreneurial mind, still, in this case it’s hardly arrogant, it just is.

There are a couple of companies around the globe copying each other, the attached from Brazil. It’s their latest rendition, used in the Houston Galleria Mall. This would work very well in Mexico City, which has severe water issues. The little units we built are in-expensive to make. A company out of China builds units that use Steam to clean the car, thus only about half a gallon of water. Still, our units actually clean the car using 2.3 gallons and a real car wash.

The car wash industry has been somewhat underwhelming in my opinion over the years. Carwashes use huge amounts of water to clean cars and they mislead the public, I was very outspoken about this, but, they were lying everyone from the Industry down to bottom feeder carwash owner keeping two-sets of books.  Is the dry wash product car wash the future? Well, if these long-term droughts continue, it appears to be the way of things. Think on this.

Contract Hire is a Valuable Solution to the New Business-Person

In the current global recession, the vast populace are all feeling a little bit nervous as to what tomorrow will hold. Those amongst us who are lucky enough to have jobs may have them whipped from underneath our feet at the drop of a hat. Those of us who don’t have jobs are wondering if we will ever be given the opportunity to work again. Regardless of your station in life; the current economical climate has got everybody a little bit on edge. A large proportion of people have decided to start their own business as a way of getting back into the workforce without relying on financially-stricken companies employing them. This, in essence, is a good idea, especially if you have a trade or a particularly detailed and fool-proof business plan. The one major drawback is the initial outlay that can seriously damage the new business-person’s balance sheet. One of the largest proportions of this outlay is often the purchasing of vehicles.

Now, I may have no sure fire way to make sure your business succeeds, but I can offer a valuable tip into ensuring that your initial earnings are not going to be swallowed up by paying for vehicles. I have two words that may be of great interest to you: Contract Hire.

Contract Hire [http://www.dayscontracthire.co.uk] is a flexible system of financing that allows you to hire the vehicles you require over a pre-designated period of time. The businesses that offer these services often make concessions for new businesses and will set up payment rates that are more realistic to your financial capabilities. With options such as buying the vehicles when your accounts will allow it, mean that Contract Hire is a valuable system for giving you a leg up into the world of business and only asking for larger payments when you and your financiers are completely comfortable with it.

For anyone looking into starting their own business and require anything from one car to a fleet of light commercial vehicles; Contract Hire is a great way of getting started.

Mobile Car Washing and Automotive Detailing – Should I Use a Pressure Washer?

Many new entrants into the mobile auto cleaning business want to save money on equipment and others have heard about Dry Wash, which does not require water; this is very good for drought ridden areas. Not long ago someone interested in getting into the business asks me: “Do you use a pressure washer in your business?”Yes, absolutely! Personally, I do not like Dry Wash or Dry wash’n Guard, or environmentally friendly (proclaimed) smear on dirt, wipe off type products. But its more than that, you see customers hate it when they see you use that stuff and it takes 2-3 times as long to clean the car, plus the cost is so much higher for these products. The PR problems with trying to explain this to customers, that you are not scratching their car with your smear product is a tough row to hoe! Go ahead and do this; search on Google: “Mobile Auto Detailing Business; Dry Wash or Pressure Wash” and this 1300 word article will go into far greater details. Now then for some things, I will admit the Dry Wash can be a superior method, for instance in parking structures cleaning high-end cars with very little dirt on them, just a layer of dust or cleaning corporate jets in Hangers, with floors so clean you could eat off of them. In this case, there is no sense in using water to rinse and dry. Why bother setting up a pressure washer, wasting water and spending hours drying off the wings and fuselage of a corporate jet? Please consider this.
